Pass the salt, while you still can
New York City has taken on the socialist roll of big brother and passed a law that prohibits the use of trans fats in public eateries because it can lead to coronary artery disease. What's next, salt? Salt is a significant problem for people with high blood pressure. Maybe sugar, it's a real problem for diabetics. Perhaps the government might want to limit the amount of work we all do so that we can all have some time to exercise, or they should mandate a 10pm bed time for all citizens so assure proper amounts of sleep. Rest is very important because it helps us fight colds and flu. Oh, and don't forget the need for a body massage to reduce stress, another major health concern. Sound silly?
It is and so is the idea that government should now force restaurants to change their recipes after years of success. Think "NEW COKE." The Indy Star reports that For now, Indy won't Pull the plug on trans fats. Read "give it time, and Indy will jump off the cliff."
As Aristotle once said "Anything in moderation..." How about the idea of government in moderation, now there is a great idea!
Surely it is all the trans fats that are killing us in our youthful age of 75 year of age!
(Incidentally, U.S. life expectancy is at an all time high...click here to link)
